How it works
How we connect your group and your channel
- Tell us what to connectYour Telegram group and your IRC channel, with the network name.
- Add the bot to the groupAs an admin, you add the bot to your Telegram group.
- The conversation startsMessages flow both ways with the name of whoever wrote them.
Why bridge Telegram and IRC?
So a community that lives on IRC doesn't lose the people who prefer Telegram on their phone: everyone reads and writes in the same conversation, each from their own app.
Do I need to be a group admin?
Yes, you need admin rights to add the bot to your Telegram group.
Does it work with any IRC network?
With networks that allow bots.
What uptime do you offer?
Our servers offer 99.9% monthly uptime. This service also depends on Telegram and the IRC network: a failure or disconnection on their end affects it until it is resolved, which is outside our control.
Are there discounts?
Yes: 3% when paying 3 months, 5% for 6 months and 10% for a full year.
Conditions
Conditions of this service
You accept them in your order. They are part of our terms of service.
- Every order is subject to review before it is activated. If it doesn't meet these terms we may reject it, and if an active service stops meeting them we may suspend or cancel it. We'll let you know by email. If we reject an order before activating it, we refund what you paid.
- Each order bridges one Telegram group with one IRC channel. You must be an admin of the group and have permission from whoever runs the IRC channel.
- Messages on each side are copied to the other with the sender's name. Let your community know the conversation is bridged.
- You must follow Telegram's terms and the IRC network's rules. The bridge may not be used for spam or flooding.
- Bots and ZNC run from IPv4 addresses shared with other customers and have no setup or maintenance fees.
- We are not responsible if an IRC network or Telegram rejects, limits or blocks the connection (for example because of its rules on bots, bouncers or shared IPs).
- SSL depends on the IRC server supporting it, and the connection to each network is not guaranteed.
- Misuse (spam, flooding, attacks, ban evasion or breaking a network's rules) may lead to cancellation of the service.
